Nature Trails

The trails meant for a select group will be marked as such on the map. So, make sure you have the map with you at all times. The trail is a total of 4 miles of natural surface and less than 2 miles of hard surface.
Athletic Area
Some of the most popular areas here are ball fields which consist of 5 softball fields and a baseball field. The Shirley Povich Field is home to the Bethesda Big Train which is a summer baseball team comprised of college athletes who play in the Cal Ripken[VN1] Collegiate Baseball League. These areas are available to be used from sunrise to sunset. Lit fields, however, will be closed after 11 PM.
Locust Grove Nature Center
Here is a natural sanctuary where you can enjoy nature and participate in a variety of different programs suited for people of all ages. Nature Immersion school programs, nature pre-school program, scout programs are some of the popular programs designed for students and kids. You also have nature trails and indoor exhibits that include a wildlife observation area, an oak tree exhibit (interactive experience), Betsy Dotson Memorial Garden, Path to the Past and more.
Cabin John Ice Rink
There are 3 indoor skating rinks that provide a wide range of ice skating and ice hockey classes for all ages and skills. Special events and skating exhibitions are also held here throughout the year. You can also rent any of the available 3 party rooms or a dance studio for hosting an event.
Pauline Betz Addie Tennis Center
There are 6 indoor tennis courts, 2 locker rooms and a lounge area for those interested in playing tennis. You can also enjoy group lessons and refine your skills with your friends or family. Some of the activities include cardio tennis, match-play tennis, parent and child tennis and more. Registration can be done either online, by phone or in person.
